The detail on this car
The W447 was built 2014–present. Two V-Class & Vito cars a year apart can be different generations and share almost no parts, so the chassis code — not the model name and not the year — is what decides fitment.
If your car does not say V-Class & Vito on it. This generation was sold as the Vito and V-Class. Same car, same parts — the badge changed, the chassis code did not. You are in the right place.
Worth knowing. V-Class and Vito share the W447 chassis. Say which one you have — the trim and interior parts differ even where the mechanical parts do not.

Not every engine reached every market — the UAE range is predominantly petrol. If your badge is not listed, or the car has been re-badged, the engine code is stamped on the block and printed on the data card; send the chassis number and we will read it off that instead.

The tone ring can turn independently of the camshaft it is mounted on, so the sensor reports a timing position the engine is not actually in. The chain and the adjuster can both be perfectly good — which is why this one gets misdiagnosed as a chain job and paid for twice.

The pin that keeps the adjuster gear located wears or breaks, letting the adjuster move when it should not. The adjuster is replaced rather than repaired.

Loss of power, limp mode, smoke, or a whistle that changes with load.
A known wear-out on the higher-mileage diesels rather than a design defect. Worth checking the oil feed and the intake side before fitting a turbo — a turbo that failed because of oil starvation will fail again.

Rough idle, hard starting, a diesel smell, or a rattle from the front of the engine.
The common diesel trio on this engine: injectors and their seals, chain and tensioner wear, and a fuel filter housing that leaks. Injectors are coded to the engine and usually to the cylinder, so the codes have to be written to the ECU after fitting — the part on its own does not finish the job.

A ticking noise from the top of the engine, then misfiring.
The most frequently reported fault on this engine. Caught at the ticking stage it is rocker arms; left alone it takes the camshaft with it.

Timing chain noise, injector faults, EGR and DPF blockage, AdBlue system trouble and sensor-related running faults are the familiar cluster on this engine. These parts are the most engine-specific on the car, so the engine code has to be right before anything is ordered.

Mercedes fitted the five-speed, seven-speed and nine-speed automatics across overlapping years, so we read the gearbox code off your data card rather than guessing it from the model year. If yours is a 722.9, this is the fault to know about.
Harsh or jerky changes, holding a gear too long then slamming into the next, or dropping into limp mode.
The conductor plate is the control module mounted on the valve body. When it breaks down internally it can no longer read input shaft speed properly, so it cannot judge torque converter slip and the lock-up goes wrong — which is what you feel. It usually starts intermittent and always becomes permanent. The other failure is mechanical wear in the valve body bores, and the two feel the same, so diagnose before buying: one is a module and the other is a valve body.

In the UAE the quickest place is your mulkiya — the vehicle registration card. On the car it is at the base of the windscreen on the driver's side, and on the sticker inside the driver's door jamb. It is seventeen characters and all of them matter.
All three, and which one makes sense depends on the part and the car. A wear item on a high-mileage car rarely justifies a genuine price; a sensor or a control module usually does. Tell us the part and the car and we will price the options side by side rather than choosing for you.
