Fuel level sender

The float and resistor in the tank that reports how much fuel is left.

How you know it is this

  • A gauge stuck full or stuck empty
  • A needle that jumps around over bumps
  • A range readout that is wildly wrong

Worth knowing before you buy

  • The track wears where the wiper sits at the levels the car spends most time at, which is why the gauge often reads correctly full and wrongly at a quarter.
  • Usually part of the in-tank pump module, so check whether it can be bought alone before ordering the assembly.
  • Cars with two tank halves have two senders, and only one may have failed.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
