ABC pressure accumulators (spheres)

Gas-charged spheres that store hydraulic pressure and smooth out the pump's pulses.

Also called spheres, accumulators.

How you know it is this

  • A harsh, jarring ride over small bumps with no fluid leak
  • A knocking or hammering from the pump area
  • The car feeling fine when driven hard and terrible at low speed

Worth knowing before you buy

  • They lose their gas charge with age. It is a wear item, not a failure.
  • A car with tired spheres rides badly long before it puts a warning on the dash, so they are often overlooked.
  • Usually replaced as a set — they age together.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
