Valve springs, collets and retainers

The spring that shuts each valve, with the small collets and cap that hold it on the stem.

How you know it is this

  • A broken spring causing a sudden loud misfire
  • Valve float at high revs

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Springs are replaced as a set when one has broken, because the rest have done the same work.
  • Collets are tiny and easily lost. Order spares.
  • AMG engines often use different springs from the standard version of the same block.

What we need to quote it. The engine code. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
