Air suspension struts — rear

The rear AIRMATIC unit. On many models this is a separate air spring and damper rather than one combined strut.

Also called rear air spring, air bellows.

How you know it is this

  • The back of the car down on the bump stops in the morning
  • One rear corner lower than the other
  • The compressor cycling repeatedly at a standstill

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Check whether your car takes a combined strut or a separate spring and damper — it varies by model and it changes the price considerably.
  • Some cars have air at the rear only, with steel springs at the front. That is not a fault; it is how they were built.
  • In pairs.

What we need to quote it. Whether the rear is a combined strut or a separate air spring, and left or right. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
