How you know it is this
- Wipers that stop in the wrong place or do not park
- A clonking from the scuttle with the wipers moving slowly or not at all
- One wiper moving and the other not — a linkage ball joint has popped
- A motor that runs with no wiper movement
Worth knowing before you buy
- The linkage ball joints wear and pop off. That is far more common than motor failure and much cheaper — the motor running with nothing moving is the sign.
- Often supplied as motor and linkage as one assembly.
- Wipers not parking correctly is usually the park switch inside the motor.
- Sun-damaged wiper arms seizing on their splines puts extra load on the whole mechanism here.
What we need to quote it. The chassis number. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
