Worth knowing before you buy

  • Almost always cheaper than new, and on an older car it is usually the only proportionate repair.
  • COLOUR WILL NOT MATCH without painting. Even the same paint code fades differently with age and sun, so budget for blending into the adjacent panels rather than a straight bolt-on.
  • A door is not just a shell. Establish whether the glass, regulator, motor, lock, mirror, trim and loom are included — that is most of the value.
  • Ask for photographs of the EDGES and the bottom seam, where corrosion and previous repairs hide.
  • Check for filler with a magnet before committing.

The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
