Power steering cooler

A small loop of finned pipe in front of the radiator that cools the power steering fluid.

How you know it is this

  • Steering fluid that darkens quickly
  • A leak at the front of the car that is fluid rather than coolant
  • Stone damage to the loop

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Sits at the very front and is damaged by stones and minor knocks more than it wears out.
  • Cheap, and often overlooked when a steering pump or rack is replaced — old, overheated fluid in a new pump shortens its life.
  • Not fitted to cars with electric power steering.

What we need to quote it. The engine code. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
