Worth knowing before you buy
- Size, offset and bolt pattern all have to match. Offset is the one most often got wrong and it decides whether the wheel clears the caliper and the arch.
- ASK WHETHER THE WHEEL HAS BEEN CHECKED FOR BUCKLE AND CRACKS. A kerbed face can be refurbished; a cracked or buckled rim cannot be made safe and should not be bought.
- A car on AMG or sports brakes needs a wheel with clearance for the larger caliper.
- Sold individually. Buying one to replace a damaged wheel is normal and usually the sensible move.
- Refurbishing your existing wheel is often cheaper than a good used one — worth pricing both.
What we need to quote it. The size and offset stamped on the back of your wheel, and a photograph of the design. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
