Air intake hoses and ducting

The pipework carrying air from the filter box to the turbo or throttle.

How you know it is this

  • A split visible in a concertina section
  • A roaring intake noise that has appeared recently
  • An air mass or lean-running fault code
  • Loss of boost with a hiss

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Rubber and plastic ducting cracks with heat, usually at the bellows sections.
  • An unmetered air leak after the airflow sensor makes the engine run lean and throws codes that point elsewhere.
  • Cheap, and worth inspecting before chasing an expensive sensor fault.

What we need to quote it. The engine code. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
