Why the 50/50 split is more than a code line

The Fire Code requirement is usually read as a box to tick. It is worth more than that once the tank is in service.

A single-compartment fire tank has to be drained to be cleaned, inspected or repaired — which means taking the fire system off-line, and that is the objection that stops most factories doing the maintenance at all. A two-compartment tank keeps one cell in service while the other is worked on: isolate one side, drain it, clean and disinfect it, return it to service, then start the other. The fire reserve is maintained throughout and production never stops for a tank.

If your existing tank is a single cell, that is the conversation worth having before your next inspection rather than after it.

• The code also calls for drain arrangement, overflow connection, level indicators and a low level switch. Tell us what the specification asks for and we will confirm what the tank can be supplied configured for.

Panel tanks are how you get the split

Sectional GRP panel tanks are assembled from flat panels on site, which is what makes a compartment division possible in the first place, and what lets the footprint be built to the space you actually have rather than to a mould size.

• Built to any footprint that meets the volume — useful when the plant room is long and low rather than square.
• Delivered flat and assembled in position, so it will go through a standard doorway into a basement or an internal plant room.
• Needs a level concrete plinth or steel beam base, prepared before delivery and designed for the filled weight — water alone is 1,000 kg per cubic metre.
• Tell us the fire pump rating and the floor area available and we will work back to the capacity and the compartment split.

You are inside the same-day radius

Sharjah holds roughly 40% of all industrial establishments in the UAE across 21 industrial zones, with 2,800+ factories. Ajman has 1,688, and manufacturing plus construction is 35.2% of the emirate's entire GDP.

We are in Ajman Free Zone, which puts most of that inside a same-day run rather than a scheduled delivery. For a fire tank that fails an inspection, the difference between same-day and next-week is the whole job.

Process water, and the fuel beside it

The same plant usually needs more than fire reserve: process and cooling water storage, and diesel for the standby set. Both are on the published price list, and both come off the same delivery.

On diesel, bunded tanks carry their own secondary containment, so there is no concrete bund to design and pour inside a working plant.
