Exhaust gas temperature sensors

The probes reporting exhaust temperature at several points, so the car can protect the turbo and manage regeneration.

Also called EGT sensor.

How you know it is this

  • A temperature sensor fault naming a position
  • Regenerations that will not start
  • Limp mode to protect the after-treatment

Worth knowing before you buy

  • There are usually several, and the code names which. Buying the wrong position is a common mistake.
  • They seize into the exhaust and shear on removal. Allow for that.
  • Cheap relative to what they protect, and a car that cannot read exhaust temperature will not regenerate its filter.

What we need to quote it. The engine code and the fault code naming the position. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
