How you know it is this
- A door that drops as it opens
- A bang or jolt as the door reaches full open
- A door that will not hold on a slope
- A creak on opening
Worth knowing before you buy
- The check strap is a wear item and is what makes the door bang at full open. It is cheap and it is the usual fault.
- A dropping door is the hinge pins and bushes, and those are often available as a kit without replacing the hinge.
- Left alone, a dropping door wears the striker and the lock, and eventually the shut line.
What we need to quote it. The chassis number and which door. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
