Worth knowing before you buy
- In the Gulf it is bought for its corrosion package and its boiling point, not for frost protection. Running plain water destroys the radiator, the water pump and the heater core.
- Mercedes specifies coolant by sheet number too, and the older blue-green and the newer types must not be mixed — mixing them can turn the coolant to gel.
- Always diluted to the correct ratio. Neat concentrate transfers heat worse than a correct mix.
- If the system has had oil in it, it needs flushing before new coolant goes in.
What we need to quote it. The engine code, and what colour coolant is in the car now. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
