Brake pads — rear

The rear friction blocks. They last longer than the front but wear faster on cars that do a lot of stop-start city driving.

Also called rear pads.

How you know it is this

  • Squeal from the back of the car
  • A rear pad warning
  • Handbrake travel increasing

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Axle set, both sides.
  • Rear pads on many models have their own wear sensor, separate from the front.
  • Rear pads sometimes outlast two sets of fronts — if yours have not, something is dragging and worth looking at.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
