How you know it is this
- A boot that will not open from the button or the key
- A boot that will not latch shut
- A boot-open warning with it closed
- Interior lights staying on
Worth knowing before you buy
- The microswitch inside tells the car the boot is shut, which is why a lock fault shows up as warning lights and a battery drain.
- Water gets into the lock area on a tailgate and corrodes the mechanism — very common.
- The emergency release inside the boot is worth knowing about before the lock fails completely.
What we need to quote it. The chassis number. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
