Oil pressure sensor and switch

The sensor that reports oil pressure to the dash and the engine management.

How you know it is this

  • An oil pressure warning with correct level and a healthy-sounding engine
  • A warning that comes and goes with temperature
  • Oil weeping from the sensor body or its plug

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Before assuming the worst, confirm with a mechanical gauge. A faulty sensor and a failing pump give the same warning and differ by a factor of a hundred in cost.
  • Cheap and usually accessible.
  • Oil creeping up the wiring into the connector is a common failure and may need the plug doing too.

What we need to quote it. The engine code. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
