Also called dump valve, recirculation valve, diverter valve.
How you know it is this
- A loss of boost with a hiss on lifting off
- Hesitation between gearchanges
- A torn diaphragm visible when the valve is removed
Worth knowing before you buy
- The diaphragm splits. It is a cheap part and a common boost-leak cause.
- On most modern engines it is a recirculating valve, not an atmospheric dump valve — fitting an atmospheric one upsets the fuelling.
- Some are built into the turbo and cannot be bought separately.
What we need to quote it. The engine code. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
