Air vents and louvres

The visible vents in the dashboard and console, and the adjustable louvres in them.

How you know it is this

  • A louvre that will not stay where it is set
  • A snapped fin
  • A vent wheel that spins without effect
  • A rattle from a vent

Worth knowing before you buy

  • The fins and their friction clips go brittle in this sun and snap. Extremely common here.
  • Vents usually clip out as a complete assembly, so it is a far smaller job than it looks.
  • The turbine-style vents on later models are individual units and are sold singly.
  • Colour and finish must match the interior.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number and a photograph of the vent. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
