How you know it is this
- A rumble or grinding from the front of the engine that is there with the belt off the accessories
- A tensioner arm that bounces visibly at idle
- Belt squeal that a new belt does not cure
- A pulley that is rough or noisy when spun by hand
Worth knowing before you buy
- The bearing in a pulley is what fails, and a seized pulley shreds a new belt in minutes.
- Spin every pulley by hand while the belt is off — it costs nothing and finds the noisy one.
- Always fitted with the belt.
What we need to quote it. The engine code. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
