Washer pump

The small pump in the washer bottle that sends fluid to the screen and, on many cars, the headlamps.

How you know it is this

  • No spray with the pump audible — a blocked jet or pipe
  • No spray and no sound — the pump or its fuse
  • Screen washers working but headlamp washers not, or the reverse
  • Fluid leaking from the bottle area

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Many cars have ONE pump with two outlets, or two separate pumps. One circuit working and not the other tells you which arrangement you have.
  • Cheap. Check the fuse and the jets before buying one.
  • Running the bottle dry repeatedly is what kills them — they are cooled by the fluid.
  • The bottle and its level sensor are separate parts.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number, and whether the car has headlamp washers. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
