Also called Service A, Service B, ASSYST.
How you know it is this
- A service due message on the dash
- The ASSYST counter reaching zero
- Buying a car with no service history and wanting a clean baseline
Worth knowing before you buy
- MERCEDES SERVICES ALTERNATE. Service A is the lighter one and Service B the fuller one, and what each contains changes with model, engine and year. There is no single universal kit.
- Bundled is normally cheaper than the same parts bought separately, and it means nothing is missing when the car is on the ramp.
- The service indicator has to be RESET with a diagnostic tool afterwards, or the car keeps asking.
- In this climate the interval is worth shortening. Heat and dust are harder on oil and filters than the schedule assumes.
- Tell us which service is due and we will confirm the contents against your chassis number before anything is ordered.
What we need to quote it. The chassis number, and whether Service A or Service B is due. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
