AdBlue tank and heater

The tank holding the AdBlue, with the heater that stops it freezing and the lines to the pump.

How you know it is this

  • An AdBlue level reading that is wrong or absent
  • A tank heater fault
  • A leak of clear fluid that dries to a white crust

Worth knowing before you buy

  • AdBlue crystallises into a white deposit as it dries. A white crust anywhere is the reliable sign of an AdBlue leak rather than anything else.
  • The heater matters far less here than in Europe, but a heater fault still logs a code and can start the no-start countdown.
  • The level sensor is usually part of the in-tank module rather than the tank.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
