Also called TPMS, tyre pressure sensor.
How you know it is this
- A tyre pressure warning that will not clear with correct pressures
- One wheel permanently showing no reading
- A fault appearing after new tyres were fitted
Worth knowing before you buy
- The battery is sealed in and lasts years, not forever. A sensor that has simply run out of battery is the most common cause.
- Sensors have to be taught to the car after fitting.
- Commonly damaged during a tyre change. If the warning appeared straight after new tyres, that is why.
- Not every car has them — some use the ABS sensors to estimate pressure instead, and those have no sensor to buy.
What we need to quote it. Which wheel, and whether the car has real sensors or ABS-based monitoring. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
