Also called EIS, EZS, immobiliser, KEYLESS-GO.
How you know it is this
- The car not recognising the key
- The key turning but nothing happening
- Keyless entry working intermittently
- A no-start with the immobiliser symbol lit
Worth knowing before you buy
- These are security parts. They are matched to the car and the keys, and replacing one usually means programming the keys as well.
- A dead key battery is the first thing to eliminate, and it costs almost nothing.
- The electronic steering lock is part of this family on many Mercedes, and when it fails the car will not start at all.
- Not something a used part solves — a donor module carries the donor car's identity.
What we need to quote it. The chassis number, the fault codes, and how many keys the car has. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
