Bonnet (hood)

The bonnet panel.

How you know it is this

  • Accident damage
  • Stone chipping across the leading edge
  • Lacquer peeling from sun exposure
  • A dent from something falling on it

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Aluminium on many models and steel on others. They are not interchangeable, and aluminium needs different repair and paint preparation.
  • LACQUER PEEL ON A HORIZONTAL PANEL IS A GULF PROBLEM. Bonnets and roofs cook, and a peeled bonnet is a very common reason for buying one here.
  • Supplied bare — the insulation pad, the badge and the hinges usually transfer.
  • Alignment afterwards matters; a bonnet that sits proud looks worse than the damage it replaced.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number and the paint code. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
