Brake calipers — rear

The rear clamp. On most modern cars it also contains the electric parking brake motor.

Also called rear caliper.

How you know it is this

  • Parking brake fault on the dash
  • A rear wheel dragging or running hot
  • Fluid on the inside of the rear wheel

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Side-specific.
  • A rear caliper with an integrated electric parking brake motor is a different part from a plain rear caliper, and far dearer. The motor is usually what has failed, not the caliper.
  • These need a diagnostic tool to retract before the pads can come out.

What we need to quote it. Left or right, and whether the parking brake is electric or cable-operated. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
