Also called drier, dryer, accumulator.
How you know it is this
- Reduced cooling after the system has been opened
- Ice forming at the expansion valve
- It is simply due — this is replaced whenever the system is opened
Worth knowing before you buy
- The desiccant inside is saturated the moment the system is opened to the air. It is a consumable, not a repair item.
- Cheap, and replaced every time the circuit is opened for any reason. Skipping it puts moisture into the system, and moisture plus refrigerant makes acid that eats the compressor.
- On some cars it is built into the condenser and comes with it.
What we need to quote it. The chassis number. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
Rest of the refrigerant circuit
