How you know it is this
- A stripped or rounded bolt head
- A snapped stud, usually found when a wheel is removed
- A wheel that will not sit flat
Worth knowing before you buy
- Mercedes mostly uses bolts into the hub rather than studs and nuts. Length and seat shape matter and are not interchangeable.
- A bolt that is too long fouls the hub; too short and it does not hold. Aftermarket wheels often need different bolts from the originals.
- Cheap, and worth replacing as a set rather than one at a time.
What we need to quote it. Whether the wheels are original or aftermarket, and whether spacers are fitted. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
