Also called cam sensor, CMP.
How you know it is this
- Long cranking before the engine catches
- A camshaft position or correlation fault code
- Rough running and a check-engine light
- Limp mode
Worth knowing before you buy
- A camshaft CORRELATION code is different from a camshaft SENSOR code. Correlation usually means the timing chain has stretched, and replacing the sensor will not touch it.
- A V engine has one per bank, and the code says which.
- Cheap, and worth ruling out before any timing work.
What we need to quote it. The engine code and the exact fault code. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
Rest of the engine sensors
- Crankshaft position sensor
- Coolant temperature sensor
- Intake air temperature sensor
- Mass airflow sensor
- Manifold pressure sensor
- Throttle position sensor
- Oil level and pressure sensors
- Fuel pressure sensor
