Shift solenoids

The electric valves inside the valve body that route fluid to engage each gear and the lock-up clutch.

How you know it is this

  • One specific gear missing or slipping while the rest are fine
  • A solenoid fault code naming a gear
  • Harsh engagement of one gear only
  • Lock-up shudder at cruise

Worth knowing before you buy

  • A fault affecting ONE gear points at a solenoid; a fault affecting all of them points at pressure, fluid or the plate.
  • Often part of the conductor plate assembly and not separately available. Which it is decides the cost.
  • Debris from worn clutches is what jams them, so a solenoid fault on a high-mileage box may be a symptom of something bigger.

What we need to quote it. The gearbox code and the fault codes. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
