Seat covers and upholstery

The covering itself — leather, MB-Tex or fabric — supplied as covers to fit over the existing foam.

How you know it is this

  • Splitting on the outer bolster where you get in and out
  • Cracking and fading of leather
  • Worn stitching
  • Colour that has lifted

Worth knowing before you buy

  • RECOVERING IS ALMOST ALWAYS BETTER VALUE than a complete seat, and it matches the rest of the interior properly.
  • The driver's outer bolster always goes first, and often that single panel can be replaced rather than the whole cover.
  • Sun fades leather unevenly, so a new cover on one seat can stand out. Doing a pair is sometimes the better result.
  • MB-Tex stands up to this climate better than leather and is what many cars here were specified with.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number for the interior code, and photographs of the wear. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
