Also called combination switch, stalk switch, clock spring.
How you know it is this
- Indicators or wipers not working in one position
- A stalk that does not self-cancel
- An airbag warning light — usually the clock spring
- Steering wheel buttons or the horn dead
Worth knowing before you buy
- AN AIRBAG LIGHT PLUS DEAD STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS IS THE CLOCK SPRING, not the airbag or the module. It is the coiled ribbon that lets wiring reach a rotating wheel, and it wears out.
- The steering angle sensor is often part of the same assembly.
- Calibration is needed after fitting anything in this area.
- The wheel must be locked straight ahead while it is off, or the clock spring is damaged on refitting.
What we need to quote it. The chassis number. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
