Brake drums

The drum the shoes press outward against. Found on older cars and light vans, and as the parking-brake surface inside modern rear discs.

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Replaced in pairs.
  • A drum has a maximum internal diameter cast or stamped into it. Past that it is scrap, not skimmable.
  • Common on the van range long after the cars moved to discs all round.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
