How you know it is this
- Lacquer crazing or lifting on wood trim
- Scratches across piano black
- A piece that has come unclipped
- Fading or discolouration
Worth knowing before you buy
- Sold as individual pieces. Usually only one is damaged, and that is far cheaper than a set.
- Piano black scratches if you look at it, and light scratches often polish out — worth trying before buying.
- Wood trim lacquer crazes in this sun. Refinishing an original piece is generally cheaper and a better match than a replacement.
- The sets are matched, so a single new piece against aged neighbours can look worse than the damage. Consider that before ordering one.
What we need to quote it. The chassis number and a photograph of the trim. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
