Alloy wheels and rims

The wheel itself.

How you know it is this

  • Kerb damage
  • A buckle causing a vibration at speed
  • Corrosion under the paint letting air past the bead

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Diameter, width, offset and bolt pattern all have to match. Offset is the one most often got wrong and it is what decides whether the wheel fouls the arch or the caliper.
  • A car on AMG or sports brakes needs a wheel with clearance for the bigger caliper.
  • Refurbishing a kerbed wheel is usually cheaper than replacing it; a buckled or cracked one is not worth repairing.
  • Wheels are sold individually. Say how many you need.

What we need to quote it. Size and offset off the back of the wheel, and a photograph of the design. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
