Steering wheel and airbag

The wheel with its controls, and the airbag module mounted in it.

How you know it is this

  • Worn or peeling leather, especially at the ten-to-two positions
  • Multifunction buttons that no longer respond
  • Heating that has stopped working
  • A sticky or degraded rim

Worth knowing before you buy

  • THE AIRBAG IS A SEPARATE PART and is not supplied with the wheel. It has its own handling rules.
  • Retrimming the original wheel is usually better value than a replacement and keeps the correct buttons and functions.
  • Wheels change within a generation — buttons, paddles, heating and the airbag connector all vary. A photograph settles it faster than anything.
  • Sun and hand oils together finish a leather rim here far sooner than mileage would suggest.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number, a photograph of the wheel, and whether it is heated and has paddles. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
