Gearbox electrical connector / sleeve

The sealed plug where the car's wiring enters the gearbox, with the sleeve that seals it.

Also called adapter plug, connector sleeve, 13-pin connector.

How you know it is this

  • Red gearbox fluid seeping from the plug, or tracking up the loom
  • Fluid found inside the gearbox control unit or the engine ECU
  • Intermittent gearbox faults and limp mode
  • Gearbox fluid level dropping with nothing on the ground

Worth knowing before you buy

  • A CHEAP PART THAT CAUSES EXPENSIVE FAILURES. When the sleeve seal fails, gearbox fluid wicks up the wiring and can reach and destroy the control unit at the other end.
  • Always fitted whenever the pan or the conductor plate is off — it is a few dirhams next to the labour.
  • Fluid in the loom means the loom section may need replacing too, not just the sleeve.

What we need to quote it. The gearbox code. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
