Also called cam solenoid, VVT solenoid, magnet.
How you know it is this
- A camshaft timing code that clears and returns
- Rough running that comes and goes
- Oil found inside the solenoid's electrical plug
Worth knowing before you buy
- Cheap, and by far the most common cause of a camshaft timing code. Always worth trying before the adjuster.
- Oil creeping up the wiring into the plug is a classic failure, and the loom connector may need doing with it.
- Its filter screen blocks with sludge — sometimes cleaning is all it needs.
What we need to quote it. The engine code and the fault codes. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
