How you know it is this
- A hard brake pedal
- Turbo or EGR actuators not responding
- An oil leak from the end of the cylinder head, where the pump is driven
- A hiss from a perished vacuum hose
Worth knowing before you buy
- Standard on diesels and on most modern turbo petrols, because they do not make enough vacuum in the inlet.
- The hoses perish and are a fraction of the price of the pump. Check them first.
- Driven off the camshaft, so a failed pump can leak engine oil into the brake vacuum system and ruin the servo.
What we need to quote it. The engine code. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
