Oil pressure relief valve

The valve that limits maximum oil pressure by dumping excess back to the sump.

How you know it is this

  • High oil pressure when cold, with seals pushing out
  • Low pressure that a new pump does not cure
  • A valve found stuck open or closed on strip-down

Worth knowing before you buy

  • A stuck-open valve gives low pressure with a perfectly good pump — a cheap part mistaken for an expensive one.
  • Usually inside the pump, so it comes with it on most engines.
  • Debris is what jams it, which points back at oil condition.

What we need to quote it. The engine code. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
