Distributor cap and rotor arm

On older engines, the cap and rotor that route the spark from one coil to each cylinder in turn.

How you know it is this

  • Misfiring across several cylinders
  • Hard starting when damp
  • Carbon tracking or corrosion visible inside the cap

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Older cars only. Anything reasonably modern has no distributor.
  • Cap and rotor are always changed together — they wear against each other.
  • Cheap, and a standard part of a tune-up on the cars that have them.

What we need to quote it. The engine code. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
