Airbags — seat, curtain, steering wheel

The airbags themselves — in the wheel, the dashboard, the seats and along the roof line.

How you know it is this

  • An airbag warning light
  • A deployed bag after an accident
  • A fault naming a specific bag

Worth knowing before you buy

  • PYROTECHNIC AND SAFETY-CRITICAL. Handling, transport and disposal are all regulated. Battery disconnected, system discharged, and fitted by someone who does this properly.
  • After a deployment the control module stores a crash record and must be replaced or professionally reset — it will not clear.
  • MOST AIRBAG LIGHTS ARE NOT THE AIRBAG. A clock spring, a seat occupancy sensor or a connector under a seat accounts for the great majority, and all are far cheaper. Get the code read first.
  • Coding is required after fitting.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number, the fault codes, and whether the car has been in an accident. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
