Blower motor

The fan behind the dashboard that pushes air through the heater and the evaporator into the cabin.

Also called heater fan, blower.

How you know it is this

  • No airflow at any speed
  • A squealing, rumbling or clicking from behind the dashboard that changes with fan speed
  • Airflow that cuts out and returns
  • A burning smell from the vents

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Noise that changes with fan speed is the motor or something in the housing with it. Noise that does not is elsewhere.
  • A motor that has become stiff draws more current and takes the resistor with it — which is why the two are so often replaced together.
  • Leaves and debris get in through the scuttle and jam the wheel. Worth looking before buying a motor.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
