Gearbox speed sensors

The sensors reading input and output shaft speed, so the control unit knows what the gearbox is actually doing.

How you know it is this

  • Limp mode with a speed sensor fault
  • Erratic shifting, or shifts at the wrong moment
  • A speedometer that drops out

Worth knowing before you buy

  • On many Mercedes boxes these are built into the conductor plate and are not separately available — that is why a sensor code so often means a conductor plate.
  • A sensor fault and a conductor plate fault read alike. The code alone does not settle which.
  • Cheap where they are separate; not cheap where they are not.

What we need to quote it. The gearbox code and the fault codes. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
