Spring seats and insulators

The rubber pads the coil spring sits on at each end, isolating it from the body and the strut.

Also called spring pad, spring isolator.

How you know it is this

  • A creak or groan from one corner at low speed over uneven ground
  • The car sitting slightly low on one side with a spring that looks intact

Worth knowing before you buy

  • They flatten and perish with heat and age, which drops ride height a little and lets the spring talk to the body.
  • Always fitted with a new spring. A new spring on a flattened seat will creak from day one.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
