Also called rotors, front rotors, brake rotor.
How you know it is this
- A pulsing or juddering pedal under braking, felt through the steering
- A lip you can catch a fingernail on at the outer edge of the disc
- Deep scoring, or a blue tinge from overheating
Worth knowing before you buy
- Always replaced in pairs. One new disc against one worn one pulls the car to the side under braking.
- New discs mean new pads. Old pads have worn to the shape of the old disc and will never bed in properly.
- Diameter changes with the engine and the brake package — an AMG or sports pack car takes a bigger disc than the same model on standard brakes.
- Vented, solid and drilled are not interchangeable. The caliper and carrier are machined for one thickness.
What we need to quote it. Whether the car has the AMG or sports brake package, and the diameter if you can measure it. The chassis number settles both if you would rather send that. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
Rest of the discs, pads and friction
