Headlight units — LED / MULTIBEAM

The LED headlamp, including MULTIBEAM — an array of individually controlled LEDs that shapes the beam around other traffic.

Also called MULTIBEAM, LED headlight, adaptive LED.

How you know it is this

  • A section of the light array dark while the rest works
  • A headlamp fault message on the dash
  • Condensation inside
  • Accident damage

Worth knowing before you buy

  • THE MOST EXPENSIVE LIGHTING PART ON THE CAR, frequently by a large multiple. Before ordering, be certain the unit itself has failed and not its control module.
  • The LEDs are not individually replaceable. A dark segment usually means the unit or its module.
  • Almost always needs coding to the car after fitting.
  • Used and refurbished units are a real market here and worth pricing, because the difference is substantial.
  • Check whether the fault is the module rather than the lamp — on some cars the control module is separate and far cheaper.

What we need to quote it. A photograph of the headlamp, the chassis number, left or right, and the fault codes. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
