Mirror glass and indicators

The mirror glass on its backing plate, and the indicator repeater in the housing.

How you know it is this

  • Cracked or shattered glass
  • Glass that has fallen out
  • A dead indicator repeater
  • Heating or auto-dim not working

Worth knowing before you buy

  • BY FAR THE CHEAPEST MIRROR REPAIR, and most mirror damage is only the glass. Always price this before a complete mirror.
  • Heated, auto-dimming, wide-angle and blind-spot glass are all different parts. Match the specification.
  • The glass clips onto a backing plate on the motor. Getting it off without breaking the plate is the fiddly bit.
  • The indicator is usually a separate strip and is also cheap.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number, left or right, and whether the glass is heated, dimming or wide-angle. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
