Control arm bushes

The rubber or hydraulic bushes at the inner end of each arm, isolating road noise while holding the geometry.

Also called wishbone bush, arm bush.

How you know it is this

  • A dull thud over expansion joints rather than a sharp knock
  • Steering that feels vague and pulls under braking
  • Visible cracking or the rubber standing proud of its sleeve
  • Fluid weeping from a hydraulic bush

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Hydraulic (fluid-filled) bushes are used on the front lower arms of many models. They leak, and a fluid-filled bush cannot be substituted with a solid rubber one without changing how the car rides.
  • Pressing bushes needs a press and the right tooling. On many arms the complete arm is cheaper than the labour to change the bush.
  • Alignment afterwards.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
